Dasa, the final evolution of Ados

In 2017 Yvette Carnell announced that African Americans are a distinct black ethnic group, like Haitians or Jamaicans, Eritreans or Somalis. At the time I was a regular listener of her call-in show, which she hosted with technical support from Irami Osei-Frimpong. I can't recall how I found her show, except that it was during this year that she came up with the name "DOS," meaning "descendants of slaves" while quoting MLK. Quickly she realized that "dos" is the Spanish word for "two," and that it wasn't a great move to name your ethnic group after the #2, so she tacked an "A" onto the front and it became "ADOS."

The only problem with this is that “ADOS” means “adolescent” in French. That's better than "DOS", but not quite there. I personally don't want my family, or black people in general to be thought of as children or second-best. This is why I believe that the name should change one more time, from "ADOS" to "DASA"; "DASA" means "Descendants of American Slaves from Africa".

Whereas "ADOS" means "child" and "DOS" mean "two," "DASA" means "slave," and thus it captures the history of black Americans and honors the ancestors. Even better is that "Dasa" comes from Sanskrit, a dead language (like Latin), which doubles as a liturgical language (like Latin). This means that no one is born learning Sanskrit as a first language, and its use is confined to religious ceremony (in this case Hinduism). As stated before, I feel this word helps us honor our slave ancestors, while avoiding the missteps of calling ourselves children (ADOS) or #2 (DOS), and I hope to spread its use over the coming years.

Below is a table I created while looking for the proper name:

Acronym/Name Meaning Foreign Translations/ Miscellaneous Viability/Comments
(Good/Bad/Ok)
Is it taken or available?
DOS Descendants of Slaves T/L: Spanish: dos
Meaning: two
Bad
Nobody wants to call their people the number two.
Available
*DOS changed to ADOS

ADOS American Descendants of Slaves T/L: French: ado
Meaning: adolescent; teenager
Bad
I personally don’t want to reinforce the idea that black people are children.
Taken
DASA Descendants of American Slaves from Africa Sanskrit: dasa
Meaning: servant; slave
*Sanskrit is a dead language
This word perfectly captures the lineage of black Americans, honors the ancestors, and you'll never hear someone speaking Sanskrit on the street. Taken
*If we can get 15 million DASA onboard with the name, I'll get a tattoo.
DAS Descendants of American Slaves T/L: German: das (gender: neuter)
Meaning: “the”
Ok Taken
*A group calling themselves “DAS” tried to foster a "treaty" between themselves and an ADOS Chapter. They believe they’re their own country. A toothless declaration.
DAAS

Descendants of African-American Slaves T/L: N/A
Sounds like: German “das” (see above)
Ok Available
ABDOS American Black Descendants of Slaves T/L: Sundanese: abdos
Meaning: porto (a port or port wine)
How do you feel about wine or ports? (the Sundanese live in Indonesia and number about 40 million, putting their group in a 5:4 ratio to the 32 million DASA) Available
BADOS Black American Descendants of Slaves Literally has the word “bad” in it Bad -os Available

Climate Propaganda, A Narrative

Recently two things have come to my attention.
  1. Global warming is coming to an end.
  2. The present propaganda has obfuscated the problem of pollution.
I'll begin with the first one. According to a study put out in 2017, the temperature of the Earth is determined by the Sun's output, as well as the atmospheric pressure. These two factors determine the temperature of the Earth, as well as the temperatures of all rocky planets with atmospheres. Since this new model is highly accurate (it has a 99% accuracy) and excludes greenhouse gasses, it is likely that greenhouse gasses do not exist. To summarize, this model:
  • Shows that the relationship between energy from the Sun and atmospheric pressure determine temperature, with 99% accuracy.
  • Does this without the need of greenhouse gasses.
  • Does this for Earth, but also includes other rocky planets with atmospheres, making it universal, like other laws of physics.
Take into consideration the runaway greenhouse hypothesis. In light of present evidence, this unstable model projects that the climate of Earth will become more like that of Venus (a planet which has an atmosphere 92 times the size of Earth's and is closer to the Sun, receiving more energy), and people take this seriously, working themselves into a frenzy imagining it.

Looking at the Sun's output, it is predicted to decrease. Based on the factors listed above, if Earth's atmosphere stays the same and the energy it receives from the Sun decreases, then which way will average temperature move? We are headed for a mini ice age, known as a Grand Solar Minimum. Meanwhile, environmental issues continue to go unaddressed.

Now we come to the second part of the problem we face, the propaganda. By focusing on the spectre of greenhouse gasses, we've come to ignore dire ecological problems. Instead of looking at who is dumping this or that chemical, mining this or that environment, naming names and enforcing criminal responsibility on specific companies' board members and CEOs, we've focused our energy on carbon emissions.

These issues include habitat destruction, over-fishing, pollution (toxic mining, waste dumping, etc.) and they've been subjugated by this death urge, masquerading as concern for the climate. As these issues mount, we move further from them, into a narrative which seeks to punish us with carbon taxes, without addressing the ecological effects of our present economic system.

On the human level, we could say that climate change is going in the opposite direction (towards cooling) as part of its natural cycle, and that humans haven't come to the first step of preparation: accepting reality. Both "sides" believe this about the other, yet only one has a model which extends to other planets beyond Earth and can boast an accuracy of 99%. Why should adaptability be the purview of the rightwing political element, which will continue the liquidation of life on Earth to the benefit of the economic status quo (Capitalism)? Is it really so difficult for the global left to imagine a new world beyond uncontrolled growth/expansion?

Every time you fight with someone about greenhouse gasses, you miss an opportunity to discuss the dire consequence of an economy which is destroying everything it touches. I encourage everyone to take up an ecological issue, learn about it, and when someone mentions the climate, give them the opportunity to care.
